Open since 1994, the « Sanglots Longs » is a museum about World War II. It tells the history of World War II from a local, regional and world point of view. The name of the museum is a reference to the coded messages between the BBC in London and the French Resistance. Shortly before the D_Day landings of 6 June 1944, Radio Londres broadcast the first verse of a Paul Verlaine poem to let the resistance know that the invasion would begin within 24 hours. It starts... 'Les sanglots longs des violons d'automne …..'
A part of the museum also is dedicated to the TSF radio.
