The Abbey of Our Lady of Timadeuc is a Cistercian-Trappist abbey, founded in 1841 by monks from the Abbey of La Trappe in the Perche.
During the Second World War, the abbey became a place of refuge for resistance fighters and fugitives.
On June 14, 1943, the Gestapo arrested Father Guénaël Thomas was deported and never returned.
The Abbey also served as a weapons depot for the Resistance and was awarded the medal of the Resistance on January 3, 1946.
The Abbey shop is open every day from 9am to 5pm. You will find the cheese "Trappe de Timadeuc" refined on the spot, fruit jelly sweets, a bookstore, records ...
